According to filings with Leon County and the City of Tallahassee, the number of single-family new construction permits were down 18.2% in November 2025 when compared to November 2024. However, permit values were up 25.6%.
There were 27 permits issued in November 2025, compared to 33 permits issued one year ago. There were 49 permits issued in October 2025. The value of the November 2025 permits was $11.3 million, up 25.6% from the $9.0.7 million reported in November 2024.
The 3-Mnth Avg. data (Sep. – Nov.), which smooths out the month-to-month volatility, shows a 6.1% decrease in the number of permits issued over the same 3-month period one year ago.
The 3-Mnth Avg. data show a 2.0% decrease in monthly average permit value during this period. The 3-month average permit values decreased from $9.8 million in November 2024 to $9.6 million in November 2025.
