With the Cross Country season coming to an end, Tallahassee Reports has ranked the top Leon County runners for the 2025-2026 season. Listed below are the boys runners ranked based on performances at notable meets.
1. Joshua Hicks, Chiles
Florida State signee Joshua Hicks (Sr.) places first in our Leon County rankings after capping off a very successful 2025-2026 season. Hicks had multiple first place finishes at tournaments including FHSAA 3A Regionals, FHSAA 3A Districts, HOKA Nights of Thunder and the St. JPII Panther Invite. Hicks set a personal record at the ASICS Invitational with a time of 14:49.70 while placing third at states with a time of 15.21.10.
2. Jonathan Kiros, Chiles
Jonathan Kiros (Jr.) ranks second in our Leon County rankings while making significant contributions to the Chiles cross country team. Although Kiros did not have a first place finish this year, he placed second three times at the St. JPII Panther invite, the FHSAA 3A district tournament and the FHSAA 3A regional tournament. Kiros set a personal record of 15:21.00 at the New World Fall Spectacular while placing fourth overall at State Finals with a time of 15:46.30.
3. David Barton, Maclay
Maclay Junior, David Barton, ranks third in our Leon County rankings while leading the Marauders during the 2025-2026 season. Barton had a second-place finish at the Suwanee Invitational and a third-place finish at the St. JPII Panther Invite. Barton set a personal record at the New Fall Spectacular with a 15:31.00 and a 17th place finish. While at the FHSAA 1A State Finals, Barton placed fifth with a time of 16:07.20.
4. Jackson Beener, Chiles
Chiles’ Jackson Beener (Sr.) ranks fourth in our Leon County cross country rankings, becoming the third Chiles runner to make the list. Beener’s best finish of the 2025-2026 season was a fourth-place finish at the St. JPII Panther Invite with a time of 17:04.30. Beener set a personal record with a time of 16:08.87 at the Asics Invitational while placing 109th. While at states, Beener placed 68th with a time of 16:58.30.
5. Trent Parsons, Lincoln
Lincoln’s Trent Parsons (Jr.) finishes up our rankings in fifth place, consistently competing at a high level and holding his own against a strong field of runners. Parsons had a fifth-place finish at the 24th Annual Tift Invitational and a 13th place finish at the FHSAA 3A District 1 Meet. Parsons set a personal record at the ASICS Invitational with a time of 16:13.24. While at the FHSAA 3A states meet, Parsons finished 59th with a time of 16:51.60.
