With the girls basketball season nearing its midpoint, Tallahassee Reports is highlighting the top three leading scorers in Leon County using MaxPreps stats updated through Jan. 7.
Jamiya Brown, Lincoln
Lincoln (4-7) Senior Jamiya Brown leads the Trojans in scoring averaging 18.5 points over a span of eight games with a total of 148 points. Brown dropped a season high against Ribault (11-6) on Dec. 22nd scoring 28 points in a heartbreaking 76-73 loss. Brown has had four games with over 20 points with 11 games left in the regular season. Lincoln is currently 4-7 with an away game against Bay (2-8) on Jan. 8th.
Callie James, Florida High
Florida High (8-8) 8th grader Callie James leads the Seminoles in scoring averaging with 14.4 points a game over a span of 16 games with a total of 230 points so far this season. James has had three games with 20 points or more including a performance against Bay (2-8) where she dropped her season high of 24 points on Nov. 19th. Florida High’s next game is a marquee matchup against Godby (7-4) at home on Jan. 8th.
Makiyah McHenry, Florida High
Florida High Senior Makiyah McHenry is averaging 12.3 points a game for the Seminoles playing in 16 games with a total of 196 points. McHenry has had three games with twenty point or more including her performance against Rockdale County (3-12) where she dropped her season high of 22 points.
