The City of Tallahassee is hosting a meeting tonight at The Golf Club at Summerbrooke to hear input from citizens about the Land Use Element of the Tallahassee-Leon County Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan provides the blueprint for growth and development within Leon County.
The Comprehensive Plan is a dynamic document that can be amended on an annual basis.
The City of Tallahassee press release states that the goal of the meeting “is to align the land use and development plan with established community priorities, beginning with a comprehensive assessment and revision of the Land Use Element.”
Recent developments off of Ox Bottom Road and Bannerman Road have raised concerns among north-side residents about the parameters of new development. Often times, citizens who question zoning changes are told that the proposed changes are consistent with what is contained in the Comprehensive Plan. This meeting will allow concerned citizens to ask questions about the process of proposing changes to the Comprehensive Plan.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
The City of Tallahassee has scheduled six workshops at various locations to address the Comprehensive Plan. All meetings will be held from 6-7:30 p.m.

I excercise at Fort Braden Community Center. There is no notice posted about tonight’s meeting. Neither inside or on the board outside. This is absurd. They should want all of us there!
The real problem is the people that draw up the “”Comprehensive “”plan to begin with. Made up of liberal school educated drones that further “”one size fits all “”and “”diversity rules”” thinking. Example: This “”in-fill”” bit where they permit going back into established neighborhoods to create high density development (still calling it single family use) , however families are stacked into 0 lot line structures like ants in an ant hill ,in and among free standing SF quality homes built some years ago , but that continue to attract buyers desiring a decent living space . The policy destroys long standing property values however said proponents could not care less . Clean house, folks, top down , bottom up !!
