Following a story by TR, Leon County Schools has confirmed that Gilchrist principal David Solz has been replaced by current Deerlake principal Scotty Crowe.

The statement by the Leon County School Board is below:
Mr. Scotty Crowe is being named the new principal of Gilchrist Elementary. Mr. Crowe was most recently the principal of Deerlake Middle for the previous year and a half. Mr. Crowe served as principal of Gilchrist from 2005 to 2008.
Mr. Stephen Mills is being appointed as the new principal of Deerlake Middle. Mr. Mills served as the Deerlake assistant principal from 2010 to 2017. Most recently Mr. Mills was the assistant principal at Godby High School.
Both will begin their new appointments immediately.

Congratulations Mr.Crowe we are sad to see you leave Deerlake. You have more class than Rocky Hanna (who also dated a teacher he supervised, crafted a notebook filled with proven misinformation and innuendo, admitted to the school board attorney he made up the contents, thus falsifying information to federal and state authorities) and any of his nepotistic Assistant Superintendent appointments.
The school district needs more people like Mr. Crowe!
