On November 28th, the Leon County Commission held a workshop related to the County’s funding of human services through the Community Services Partnership (CHSP) and tabled the recommendation that would shift certain funding responsibilities to the Children’s Services Council (CSC).
One man was left with serious injuries after a shooting around 11:00 a.m. outside a Sunoco gas station in the 2700 block of Blair Stone Road. There are no suspects and it is not believed to be a random act of violence. The investigation is ongoing.
Leon County residents reported a surge in mail theft in the Killearn Lakes Subdivision. Mailboxes and have tampered with and local law enforcement is asking residents to check their front doorbell cameras in order to catch the perpetrators.

After his devastating injury, Florida State QB Jordan Travis has been voted the ACC’s Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year. Travis had a completion percentage of 64 percent for 2,756 yards and 20 touchdowns with only two interceptions while adding 176 yards and seven touchdowns on 73 rushing attempts.
Tonight, No. 15 FSU women’s basketball takes on the Arkansas Razorbacks tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Civic Center. The game is the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Game, where if you show a valid FSU staff ID you can receive two complimentary tickets.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation announced the Hyatt Regency in Miami agreed to pay a fine and settle the complaint after the hotel allowed children to attend a “lewd and lascivious” drag show in December 2022. A press release from the state said after reviewing the evidence “allowing minors to attend age-inappropriate entertainment shows of a sexual nature,” the department filed an administrative complaint charging them with multiple criminal violations.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has said that amid rumors of California secession, DeSantis said he doesn’t want to give up on California. He said that he would go in there and deal with “Soros prosecutors” and “restore law and order.”
Florida State Rep. Kelly Skidmore, a Democrat from Boca Raton, has officially declared her candidacy for the role of Florida House Minority Leader for the 2026-2028 legislative term. Concurrent with her announcement, Skidmore garnered support from several members of the House Democratic Caucus, of which she serves as Policy Chair.

@ Tia = Just so you know…….. “Florida Democrats are keeping Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and President Joe Biden’s other opponents off the state’s primary ballot, effectively handing Biden the state’s 250 delegates”.
The decisions of the Republican party in Florida are wildly unpopular and have been allowed to go unchecked. As I lifelong resident of Florida I respectfully ask that your “reporting” actually report. There’s more in Tallahassee going on than what you report. Maybe if you removed your tongue from Desantis’ balls, you could see that.

If we can get get California to secede, put a HUGE visitor, immigrant, or highway usage tax on vehicles arriving from California. DISCOURAGE THEIR EXIT!!!
Please grant the California secession. Then make every road out of California a Toll Exit. In fact, Finish building the Boarder Wall and when you get to California, turn North and Wall them off too.
