Commissioner Richardson – Sha’ron James, Mark Mustian. Commissioner Williams-Cox – Elaine Bryant, Bugra Demirel. Commissioner Matlow – Dr. Bruce Strouble, Ernie Payne.

The Leon County Commission meeting briefs from the December 12, 2023 meeting are now available.
A Jeep and a Leon County School bus were involved in a crash Wednesday morning. Florida Highway Patrol said there were 17 students on the bus. No one was hurt. The crash happened at 6:42 a.m. and both vehicles came to rest at Tallahassee Commercial Airport on U.S. 27.

Florida State redshirt junior punter Alex Mastromanno was named a second-team All-American Wednesday by The Sporting News, one week after also earning second-team All-America honors from CBS Sports/247Sports. Mastromanno was one of three finalists for the Ray Guy Award, presented to the nation’s top punter.
Florida State football is welcoming two quarterbacks in the transfer portal to Tallahassee for visits this weekend. Former Clemson and Oregon State QB DJ Uiagalelei and former Washington State QB Cam Ward will be in town this weekend.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is blaming former President Donald Trump and allowing the IRS to recognize the Satanic Temple as a protected religion. Recently in Iowa, online blowback ensued after a Satanic statue was erected in the Iowa Capitol building. “My view would be that’s not a religion that the Founding Fathers were trying to create,” DeSantis said. “But I do think that IRS ruling, I was really surprised to see that they did that.”
Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo will be campaigning for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the U.S. Virgin Islands. U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds will be at the same events on behalf of former President Donald Trump. This is Ladapo’s first solo campaign swing for DeSantis, but he has been on the trail with the Governor, with a co-appearance at a “medical freedom” town hall in New Hampshire.
The Sarasota School Board voted 4-1 Tuesday to ask member Bridget Ziegler to resign. Ziegler, an original co-founder of Moms for Liberty, stayed largely silent after casting her lone “no“ vote. Dozens rallied outside the school board meeting, accusing Ziegler of hypocrisy for having advocated for traditional values while she was allegedly having a sexual relationship with her husband and another woman.

Hey Ron, Satanism IS a Religion, so therefore, Trump did the only thing he COULD do, recognize the Satanic Temple as a protected religion. I am a Christian and always will be and, isn’t this Country built on FREEDOM of Religion? Also, didn’t someone in Congress take their Oath while resting their Hand on a Quran? Just saying…… pick your battles, this shouldn’t be one.
Mark Mustian was the only City Commissioner who voted against the $100,000 deferred compensation package the other commissioners voted for themselves.
The Charter review committee reads like a list of usual suspects. This ought to be a complete grift. The song says I’m supposed to enjoy the ride when going to hell in a bucket… this ride sucks.
