On Sunday, Leon County notified citizens they are closely monitoring a tropical weather system in the Caribbean and remains in contact with the National Weather Service.
On Thursday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m., the Children’s Services Council of Leon County (CSC) will hold a public hearing to consider approving a milage rate that will increase property taxes by 10%, or approximately $800,000.

FLORIDA NEWS
Florida’s unemployment rate remained at 3.3 percent in August as retirements continue to outpace efforts to grow the labor force. The Florida Department of Commerce on Friday estimated 368,000 Floridians qualified as unemployed in August, up 2,000 from July, while the work force of 11.044 million people decreased by 12,000.
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday awarded $18 million in grants to increase Florida’s storage capacity for aggregate materials used in infrastructure projects. The funding is part of a $100 million initiative over five years to strengthen the state’s supply chain for construction materials like asphalt and concrete.
NATIONAL NEWS
Georgia election board requires November ballots be hand counted. The state election board ruled 3-2 Friday in requiring local precincts to count ballots by hand and to confirm the figures with the machine counts before certifying the results in the November elections. The new rule could lengthen the time it takes to tally the results in the battleground state (see overview). Separately, early in-person voting kicked off Friday in Virginia, Minnesota, and South Dakota.
Secret Service identifies failures preceding July Trump shooting. An agency report released Friday concluded communication failures between local and federal law enforcement contributed to missed opportunities in stopping the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in July during a rally outside Pittsburgh. Problems included ineffective radio transmissions between the Secret Service and local police, as well as failure to place a team on the roof where the shooter was perched.

The CSC hasn’t done a dang thing except make Ceka’s bank account grow at an exponential rate. They suck good air and spend our money on themselves, the children get little more than a juice box.
What has the CSC actually done since they organized and how do they justify a 10% rate increase?? Serious question…. hope someone can give me specifics of what they’ve done to benefit children in Leon County.
Their should always be Paper Ballots, Only Election Office Staff should be allowed to handle the Ballots on Election Night, Trained Watchers should be in the Room standing beside those Counting the Ballots watching them Count, Those Precincts not allowing Watchers should have all the Ballots in that Precinct Voided, Anyone in the Count Room committing Fraud should be Arrested and do a Minimum of 5 Years in Prison, The Election is over at 7:00pm, once the Voting Booths shut down NO MORE BALLOTS should be excepted. Everyone handling the Ballots once they are Turned in or Mailed in should be Sworn In and Subject to Arrest if they mishandle the Ballots in anyway.
