LOCAL NEWS

The California groups financing City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow’s One Tallahassee political committee wants a progressive majority on the city commission to support a rapid transition to renewable energy and if they don’t, the group will withhold financial support in future elections.

Felony drug possession, drug possession misdemeanors, multiple failures to appear in court, careless driving, and driving on a suspended license are just a few of the things both Tallahassee Police and the Tallahassee Democrat ignored in their cover up of the Ryan Ray body cam story.

LOCAL SPORTS NEWS

The Chiles Timberwolves and the Florida High Seminoles volleyball teams won their regional championship matches and are headed to the FHSAA State Championships which will be held Monday-Saturday, November 4-9, at the Polk State College – Winter Haven Health Center.

FLORIDA NEWS

A Florida-based survey finds GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott winning statewide with 51% support. The same survey predicts defeat for ballot measures on marijuana and abortion.

NATIONAL NEWS

Millions of US voters will head to the voting booth tomorrow to cast ballots in what appears to be a deadlocked presidential race. Various poll aggregators—see RealClearPolitics and 538—have former President Donald Trump leading by 0.1% or Vice President Kamala Harris leading by 0.9%, respectively, in national polls. Both figures are within the margin of error. 

Former Louisville, Kentucky, police officer Brett Hankison was convicted by a federal jury late Friday for his role in the raid that killed 26-year-old Breonna Taylor in March 2020. The development marks the first conviction of an officer involved in the raid.

  1. I don’t have any dogs in the Faith Presbyterian Church issue, but that sounds like hearsay to me and the comment should be deleted.

  2. I would like to see an article about battery on senior citizens over 65 and how the elderly are affected differently than younger aged folks.

    Fear or money will have brought TPD in line. Threats or bribery from entities way up in the halls of power. Tallahassee is a very blue city in a very powerful red state. I think we are witnessing the attempt at control of the state through the building of a local powerbase. We have money flowing in from some powerful concerns in California, and other places no doubt. TPD turning its back is a small favor and certainly a demonstration of what is possible.

  4. Every Officer involved in the Cover Up should be either Let Go or Suspended and Demoted.

    Why would TPD give Ray a break knowing he and Matlow are against Cops?
