On Nov. 7, Lincoln, Chiles, Rickards and Leon participated in the FHSAA 3A Region 1 tournament in Panama City, FL hosted by Arnold High School. All results from the meet were found on the MileSplit website.
Boys
Chiles took first place in the meet while having 3 runners in the top 10 and an average team run time of 16:06. Their top performances were Jonathan Kiros (So.) placing 2nd with a time of 15:31.46, Gabriel Edwards (Sr.) placing 7th with a time of 15:57.02 and Joshua Hicks (Jr.) placing 8th with a time of 16:04.44.
Lincoln finished 6th as a team with an average run time of 16:55. The Trojans’ best performance came from runner Matthew Hauser (Jr.), who placed 5th overall with a time of 15:46.93. Other notable performances from Lincoln runners include Trent Parsons (So.) who ran a 17:00.06 and Ryan McCreary (Jr.) who ran a 17:06.86.
Leon finished in 7th as a team right behind Lincoln with an average run time of 17:01. Notable performances form the Lions include Caden Maxwell with a time of 16:35.57 and Carson Weiss with a time of 16:41.76.
Girls
Schools from Leon County that entered enough runners to place as a team include Chiles, Leon and Rickards. Chiles placed 2nd with an average run time of 19:28, Leon placed 11th with an average run time of 22:48 and Rickards placed 16th with an average run time of 26:31.
