On Tuesday, March 4, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public meeting concerning the project on S.R. 61 (Thomasville Road) in Leon County from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Citizens can participate via the virtual meeting at www.nwflroads.com/calendar or may attend the meeting in-person at the East Hill Baptist Church, 912 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee.
Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments.

This project has been developed through coordination between FDOT, Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, and the City of Tallahassee to prioritize enhanced safety and accessibility for roadway users through roadway reconstruction between Calhoun Street and Sixth Avenue.
This area of reconstruction includes:
• Removal of the center continuous left-turn lane.
• Adding eight-foot sidewalk on the west side of the road.
• Adding a roadway storm sewer system.
• Reconstructing the sidewalk on the east side of the road to six-foot.
• Reconstructing the roadway to have two-lane, two-way operation.
• Reconstructing City of Tallahassee water and sewer lines.
• Reconstructing the traffic signals at Monroe Street, Sixth Avenue, and Seventh Avenue. Additionally, the remainder of the project limits will be milled and resurfaced.
It is anticipated the construction duration will be approximately two years and significant impacts to existing traffic patterns will occur.
