The road to a Babe Ruth World Series runs through Tallahassee for the 14’s division, and Tallahassee Leon Babe Ruth is looking to lock in their trip with some home field advantage. The Southeast Regional begins Wednesday in the Capital City with pool play, as five teams looking for one bid to the World Series next month. All games are at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee and are free to come watch.

Gov. Ron DeSantis will make a controversial but expected appointment Wednesday to the vacant Chief Financial Officer position. The Governor will choose a close ally in the Florida Legislature over President Donald Trump’s endorsed pick for the job.
Orange County (Orlando area) has gone to the Florida Supreme Court after an appeals court ruled last month that the industry group Florida Realtors and the Florida Apartment Association can seek attorney fees from the county after a battle about a rent-control measure.

Flash flooding in New York and New Jersey killed at least two people late Monday when their car was swept into a stream. The heavy rain—between 3 and 6.5 inches in northern New Jersey and over 2 inches in 30 minutes in New York City—flooded parts of the city’s subway system and left cars stranded. US consumer price index rose 2.7% year over year in June from 2.4% in May, while core inflation—excluding food and energy—rose 2.9% year over year; both figures are in line with estimates (More).

Hey Rocky, isn’t it YOUR job to maintain and hopefully increase enrollment in Leon County schools? You do that by offering a superior learning experience that entices parents to send their kids to your schools instead of the many available alternatives.
You seem to spend your time bad-mouthing Charter Schools, fighting with the State and Governor, writing articles and making appearances discussing how you don’t have enough money. Why not direct your energy towards putting together the best educational program you can with the resources you’ve been given?
You said, “Our team is working hard…” Perhaps it’s time to get your team to start working smart. That’s what leaders do. Rocky, it’s time to stop playing “woe is me” and start leading.
