Among the issues to be voted on is a staff proposal to execute a two year extension to the option agreement with McKibbon Hotel Group (MHG) and the City of Tallahassee to purchase a piece of property on the corner of Tennessee and Monroe.
MHG indicated that real estate and financial conditions had not allowed them to secure the financing for construction of the office building and they needed additional time to develop the project. MHG shared that they are exploring other possible uses for the site, such as an additional hotel, because conditions are still not favorable for new office construction in the downtown.
