  1. I wonder if the approximately 4500 crimes were broken down by white, black, hispanic, other, would we have a true picture of the problem. No one seems to want to address the problem where the problem may lie.

    1. I’d like to see a chart that shows the percentage of white vs. non-white residents over the last 30 years.
And then overlaying that would be the crime rate.
I double-dog dare any media outlet to have the courage publish that one!

  2. When we have public officials more interested in lining their pockets, photo ops and shameless self-promotion rather than attending to the needs of humanity this is what happens.

This is a culmination of years of the corruption.

The most recent example was Sheriff McNeil promoting and politicking for Gillum. He wasted good resources and taxpayer money on the Mickey Mouse investigation of Gillum.

Public officials spend taxpayers money to attend and float around the Buffalo Pool Party at the Chamber of Commerce junket every year. Shut it down!

I could go on and on and on, but I believe you get the picture.

  3. Or is it San Francisco with tons of human feces on the sidewalk and streets?
I think it really does not matter.
Snidely needs to run for Mayor!!!

  4. Do not waste your time over the numbers and attempt to cook up some logical next big thing we can try locally to bring the crime rate down.
Democratic run cities nationwide as well as leftist run cities worldwide are just out of control with crime and filth.
Example: do you want to take your shoes off and walk around Los Angeles??? No I think not.
Keep on voting Democrat and keep on complaining and pretending you still do not know why local crime is out of control.
No the Kearney Center and the local Reverands getting more money will not help.

  5. Hi Steve, I always prefer to read your articles rather than the Tallahassee Democrat, but you really should leave a link to the raw data. It always gives me pause and seems a little bit fishy when the authors don’t link to the actual data. I have checked your numbers on several occasions, and you always come up right on point, but it would build trust and transparency if I didn’t have to go search them out myself, and instead they were cited in your write-ups. Thanks!

    1. Still the state leader?
      Well, SHOOT!
I thought pushing DeLeo out would solve everything!

I’ll bet if we laid off 95% of the LEOs our crime rate would go down, along with our expenses.
Then the commissars would have more lucre to dole out to the student housing developers/bundlers via the CRA.

    2. How pitiful a life do you have to be such that every single thing must be viewed through a lens of us vs them, ‘libtards’ vs ‘real Americans’.

What I especially love about ‘Democratic Strongholds’ argument, is that it is another way of saying, ‘cities where humans outnumber possums’. Everytime you look at a map through with a perspective of red/blue and population density, what you find is that where there are more people per square mile, there is a consistent trend toward voting blue.

Could the relationship be social economic status, population density, economic opportunities? Naw, gotta be ‘Democratic stronghold’.
