City of Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey has called for an audit of “city actions & contracts” related to the federal investigation. Dailey announced his intentions on his twitter account Friday afternoon.
Dailey’s announcement comes two days after similar statements from City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow.
Dailey stated that the issue will be placed on the next Commission meeting agenda which is scheduled for September 11, 2019.
From Dailey’s twitter account:
“As Mayor, I know the importance of public trust. That is why I am placing an item on our next Commission meeting agenda (Sept 11) for a full public & transparent discussion on auditing past city actions & contracts and how we move forward once the federal investigation concludes.”
WFSU reported that on Wednesday City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow wanted to rebid all contracts with businesses and vendors that made payments to suspended Commissioner Scott Maddox.
“We need to send a clear message to our vendors, and to the people of Tallahassee, that decisions here are not for sale,” Matlow said Wednesday. “That’s why I’ve called for any contract where that type of behavior was involved – we need to go back and take another look, and put those for rebid.”
Maddox pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges Tuesday, in part for taking money from companies doing business with the City of Tallahassee. Matlow told WFSU that criminal activity on the part of Maddox, and the companies he accepted bribes from, “unacceptable.”
Why is the ethics officer not looking into this since it involves an elected official? Does she ever do anything? Speaking of which how come every time I call or go by her office she is never there?
Well, I guess now we know who the TD is supporting, when they give credit for the audit idea to the Mayor instead of Commissioner Matlow, the person whose idea it really was.
Thanks Commissioner Matlow for taking the lead on this. Thanks Mayor Dailey for following up on an excellent idea.
Maddox ain’t the only one that drank from the Honey well.
Amirite, John?
Audit all contracts, not just those involving Maddox.
Headline correction:
“LEFTIST SHEEPLE LOCAL VOTERS ELECTED A FOLLOWER NOT A LEADER FOR MAYOR”
Snidely says:
“Thanks Jeremy Matlow for putting a hog ring in Mayor Dailey’s nose and leading him around! I think he would be lost without you.”
“Calls for Audit of City Contracts Related to Federal Investigation ” **************** shouldn’t the headline read, “Mayor agrees with Commissioner Matlow to call for an Audit of City Contracts Related to Federal Investigation”?
Hope, you know who’s leadership that was? You guessed it. LOL

Then please calculate the monetary benefit the mayor received for doing the Kraft Auto TV commercial using his position as mayor.
There is no way the mayor did not know that was a TV commercial.
The production company needs to be exposed and come forward and either apologize that there was some deceit and the mayor did not know which I think it’s very unlikely or state that the mayor unequivocally new that he was in a TV commercial.
The mayor appearing in TV ads using his position of Mayor takes his eye off the ball of attending to the needs of the citizens plus accepting a gift. This is very serious and this should not be swept under the carpet or ignored.
The mayor needs to be held accountable.
Kudos to Matlow for his leadership on this issue regarding auditing of the contracts.
Timely good lead Matlow! Agree! why not open that Pandora box! Be surprised of the skeletons of who’s who left to be exposed! And, of course right the economic disparities between good ole Maddox boys club insiders versus outsiders. Demonstrate to taxpayers YOUR vote is NOT for SALE! As a tax payer I want to know who receive contracts for services illegally, under the table during Maddox fiedom!
