Leon County 2019 Crime Rate Down, No Longer Leads State

After a five year run, Leon County no longer leads the state of Florida in crime rate.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement data for 2019 shows that Leon County has fallen to third, behind Bay and Duval counties.

The 2019 crime rate per 100,000 residents in Leon county decreased by 13.7% when compared to 2018 numbers.

In a press release about the new numbers, Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil said gave credit, in part, to his ALLin initiative which focused on collaborative efforts to address crime throughout the community.

“Law enforcement and our community partners have made tremendous strides in the efforts to make Leon County a safer place to live, work and play,” said McNeil. “These positive outcomes are only sustainable with the continuation and strengthening of these initiatives.”

  1. Congrats!!!
And to what do we owe the tamping down of the Andrew Gillum era highest crime statistics in the Entire State to?
    1. The diligent work of local law enforcement.
    2. Everybody including the gang-bangers is just growing up and being nicer.
    3. The 11:00pm – 5:00am local curfew that allows law enforcement to stop and detain stolen cars full of young gits out dealing drugs and testing for unlocked cars in the N. E. section of Leon County without committing the egregious Law Enforcement political offense of “profiling”.

Hmmmm I wonder which of the 3 above reasons has had the largest impact on our reduction in local crime?

Anyway Congrats and keep up the good work.
