From August 2 to August 15 Florida State University conducted 3,222 tests for COVID-19 and 1.46% of the tests came back positive. FSU reported that the positive results included 42 students and five employees.

The 7-day average COVID positivity rate in Leon County is approximately 5.8% and for Florida the latest 7-day average positivity rate is approximately 8%.

Students who live on campus and test positive are moved to isolation for 14 days in the university’s designated COVID-19 residence hall or other isolation facilities. According to FSU officials, off-campus students will isolate in their off-campus residences for 14 days.

The university says any students, faculty or staff identified through contact tracing and assessment will also be notified and required to quarantine for 14 days.

FSU says clearance to return to campus and/or to their regular campus residence hall will be determined by appropriate university and CDC guidelines.

The university says it plans on releasing more information related to test results.

  1. The dumb gets dumber. Your college kid has a greater chance of dying from alcohol poisoning, suicide or a car accident than this stupid virus. They are in the prime of their lives and can easily counter the Corona Cold. According to the CDC the median age of Covid deaths is 78 and the average life expectancy of an American is 78. Nuff, said. Stop believing the click bait media with their panic and hysteria. Believe in Dr. Scott Atlas and virology 101.
