Florida Rep. Anna Eskamani Endorses Divisive Independence Day Message

The past Saturday, Florida House Representative Anna Eskamani endorsed a divisive Independence Day email message sent out by the City of Orlando. Eskamani’s approval of the message came after the City of Orlando apologized for the original message, which was critical of the United States.

The original email published on July 1 – which has since been deleted from Orlando’s official Twitter account – stated, “A lot of people probably do not want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can’t blame them. When there is so much division, hate, and unrest, why on earth would you want to have a party celebrating any of it?”

Christina Pushaw, the spokesperson for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, replied to the message. Pushaw tweeted, “Yikes. City of Orlando, is this your official position on our country and on 4th of July?”

On July 2, the City of Orlando deleted the divisive message and apologized in a tweet. The apology stated, in part, “The City of Orlando sincerely regrets the negative impact our words have had on some in our community. We understand these words offended some of our residents, which was not our intent. … ”

However, Rep. Anna Eskamani – who represents part of Orlando in the Florida House – took the opportunity to endorse the original message. Eskamani replied to the City of Orlando apology by tweeting, “Y’all do not need to apologize – your first email captured the tone of how many Americans (and Orlandoans) are feeling right now. It’s ok not to be ok.”

Eskamani is one of the most progressive members of the Florida House and pushes an aggressive agenda related to LGBTQ+ and abortion issues. During the debate over the Parental Rights in Education bill this past legislative session, Eskamani called supporters of the legislation homophobic.

Eskamani’s sentiment related to the July 4th holiday comes days after President Biden was critical of the U.S. Supreme Court while speaking at the NATO summit in Madrid, Spain.

Biden stated that the “outrageous behavior” of the Supreme Court – referring to the Court’s recent decision related to Roe v. Wade– is “the one thing that has been destabilizing” for the United States.

  1. Florida House of Representatives’ version of US Congress’ “The Squad”:
    Carlos Guillermo Smith
    Angie Nixon
    Fentrice Driskell
    and Anna Eskamani

(And thank God Gary Farmer termed out; sorry for those appearing before him as a judge.)

  2. This individual is a member of the minority party in the Florida House of Representatives. In Florida, the majority party “calls the shots.”

Nothing of concern or significance to see here. Move along to another article.

  3. Anna’s leftist views are just not logical based on the views of the overwhelming majority of Hispanic women. Especially on the subject of abortion. Then again upon second review of the photo above, and a body size comparison with that man hand on the railing, now I understand.

  4. “God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above

From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home”

    Irving Berlin

  5. @ Edward…

I believe you just wrote the Democrats mission statement!

Please repeat that often, it is so accurate.

  6. @ Pat A… I agree with you 100%. The Democrat Party is NOT the Party on tolerance and unity. They are – unimpeachably – the Party of Hate, Division, and Evil… and their clear and present goal is the total destruction of our Republic.

  7. O/T…

I don’t think that the mayor is getting his money’s worth out of his pricey campaign experts in South Florida. His campaign is falling apart daily.

Dailey’s three opponents easily bested him in a forum yesterday.

Dailey’s tired rhetoric where he exclaims that he has made “sweeping changes” in ethics and then has to explain his $27 million Blueprint infrastructure giveaway to Doak Stadium exposes him for the fraud he is.

Here is why.. FSU had the ability to raise the funds themselves without assistance of any kind from the city. Everyone in the world knows that except the 12 people that voted for it and those up for reelection out of those 12 will be voted out overwhelmingly.

Dailey is indifferent to the crime problem, the housing problem, the homelessness problem, the fentanyl problem, and to the Congolese refugees.

In addition to being the laughing stock as a candidate because he is through due to the Doak vote alone, everyone has had enough of his exorbitant pay raises to upper management staff at City Hall through his Toady Goady.

A new question for the mayor arises regarding did he have influence into the CSC pick for the director’s position? Being that his wife wrote a letter of recommendation for someone affiliated with the recent Gillum indictments who was not a top tier choice then secured the position is coming to light.

Dailey’s acceptance of his bundled contributions from special interests seems to be only helping his campaign consultants in South Florida.

Finally, his airport publicity stunt did not come in for the landing he expected.

  8. Eskamani is a progressive liberal democrat. IMO she probably isn’t a Christian. What is happening in our Country is a very vocal minority has hijacked the Democrat party. Christian views are under attack. I love this Country. How Democrats can choose to push an anti-Christian lifestyle is beyond me. How did we get here?
