Leon County Jobs Hold Steady in October, Unemployment Rate Ticks Up

After adding 4,191 jobs in September, Leon County jobs held steady in October.

The latest jobs report shows that there were 158,599 people working in Leon County in October, which is 21 less than last month’s revised employment number.

The October unemployment rate came in at 2.7%, up from the 2.6% reported last month. One year ago, the October 2021 unemployment rate was 3.5%. In October, 2019 the unemployment rate was 3.0%.

Due to the impact of the COVID pandemic, the Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, includes comparison data back to 2019.

The number of people working in October 2022 was 6,785 more than in October 2019 and was 6,096 more than in October 2021.

The October 2022 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 163,037 which was 6,516 greater than the number reported in October 2019.
