Leon County Commissioner Brian Welch Files for Re-Election

Leon County Commissioner Brian Welch filed for re-election today. Welch, who was elected in 2020, is up for re-election in 2024.

In a press release – provided below – Welch stated, “Northeast Tallahassee is such a unique and remarkable place that offers an unmatched quality of life. It has been the privilege of my life to serve my neighbors in this community as I work every day to protect and enhance our quality of life by ensuring that our residents have an advocate who remains engaged, accountable and responsive.”

The press release noted that “Welch was overwhelmingly elected by voters in 2020 and has served as a tireless advocate for the neighbors and families who call District 4 home.” District 4 includes Northeast Leon county.

During his first term, Welch voted against the Blueprint economic development grant to FSU for stadium upgrades and supported the Northeast Gateway project.

  1. Good. He’s done great. I’ve never seen a local politician with his level of communication. May disagree on a vote here or there, but good to know I’m being listened to.

    PBA has really put their insider people at risk with their silliness in 2024 Curtis, Cummings, Chamber pols will feel the anti-establishment burn from Republicans and progressives alike.
