The Florida Supreme Court has been asked by the Florida Attorney General’s Office to deny Donald Dillbeck’s stay of execution. Dillbeck is scheduled to die by lethal injection next week for the 1990 murder of Faye Vann, who was stabbed to death in her car outside the Tallahassee Mall. The Attorney General’s Office filed its response Monday afternoon. Another round of briefs are due at 3 p.m. Tuesday and the Florida Supreme Court could rule in Dillbeck’s case as early as Wednesday.

TMH announced yesterday their computer systems are back online after the recent cyber-attack. TMH also added that although these events represent a major step toward restoration, it will take some time to return to standard operations.

Leon County Schools announced yesterday that students would be allowed an excused absence in order to participate in “a civic-engagement event” taking place at the Florida Capitol today. Specifically, the event taking place is a rally lead by Al Sharpton in protest of the recent AP African American history course getting shot down and revised by the state due to subjects like “queerness” being taught as part of the black history curriculum.

Two bills related to local school districts have gotten the nod in the House Choice & Innovation Subcommittee. The first bill would require local school board elections to become partisan races, and the other would limit school board terms from two to four-year terms. The legislation is a priority for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after he spent much of the COVID pandemic fighting with school boards who opposed his efforts to block mask mandates and get Florida schools back in person.

Marking the five year anniversary of the Parkland school shooting tragedy yesterday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis reinvigorated calls for a change to Florida law requiring a unanimous decision by a jury in order to convict a criminal of the death penalty. It comes after the Parkland perpetrator avoided the death penalty in his recent trial, with every member of the jury opting for capital punishment save one.

  1. The new communications director has nothing to do with serving the needs of the citizens who pay taxes. The communications director is another pawn in the mayor’s 24/7 re-election campaign. Mayor DAILEY is using our taxpayer dollars to run for governor. It is a disgusting spectacle.

  2. Half of them can’t read, or write in complete sentences, but that’s Ok, as long as they enlist as one of Rocky’s kids and goose step down to the capital to worship at the feet of Al Sharpton they get a free day?

I hope the DOE caves in Mr. Hannah’s little shop of horrors he calls a school district. I say this as someone who attended Hartsfield Elementary School , Fairview Middle School, James S. Rickards High School, Tallahassee Community College, and Florida State University and I graduated from all of them. Some of them twice!

Rocky Hannah is failing Leon county students and the community at large.

  3. @Dennis:
One wonders if the Miami skrewel teacher had trouble finding kid-sized outfits for a drug dealer and a ho.
Now that would have been educational.

  4. Why isn[t the communications director writing something about the screwup in city utilities? First they call all customers with autopay and tell them payments will be deducted early this month. Then they do not deduct payments at all and post all autopays as overdue.

  5. In a lesson Feb 10 about Black History Month, a Miami teacher painted her students faces with blackface. The school director couldn’t find an issue with it, Miami Herald reported.

At least three students from the Studio Kids school in Miami’s Little River neighborhood had their faces painted with black paint to teach about Black History Month. One kid was dressed up as a construction worker and another a police officer while the third child’s uniform or outfit was unclear.

Courtney Politis, a black mother, saw an image of the children where her daughter attended preschool and removed her from the school asking, “What else are you teaching our children?”

  6. Al Sharpton? Excused absence? BS.

Tells you who runs this county. The Rev Holmes is the area chapter president for Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.

This place is a revolving door for non-profit wokeism.

  7. To think that Al Sharpton and Rocky Hanna think it’s more important for students to be involved in Wokeism than their studies shows how telling their nonsense is. I hope DOE steps in with consequences for Mr Hanna.

  8. Rocky Hannah is just so full of it. “a civic-engagement event”, giver us all a break, it’s nothing more than an excuse to protest against another lie regarding african american education. I mean, come on, BILL PROCTOR objected to the curriculum! He’s no right-winger!

I sincerely hope Proctor shows up at TLH and tells Sharpton to get back on his plane and stop causing trouble where there isn’t any.

  9. The School Board found a work around to expose students to misinformation and promote homosexuality.

I think the drive-by media shares in the blame for crime and misinformation.

The media should greet Sharpton at the airport with questions about his private jet. Ask do you own the jet? Do you rent the jet? How much does it cost? Can we take pictures of the interior? Who paid for the jet? Al should be pressed to explain why homosexuality is important to be included in a black history class. Al wants blacks to think he is just like them but he likes living on the other side of the tracks in a safe neighborhood.

The MSU shooter had his previous felony gun charges dropped by a George Soro funded, weak on crime Prosecuter. That fact was totally missed by WCTV this morning when their story pushed the typical liberal call for gun control. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

And speaking of WCTV’s coverage of CVS closing their southside store. Absolutely no effort put into this story. Press CVS to go on the record that crime and a lack of profits drove the decision. Then press the effected to acknowledge the crime generated in their neighborhood drove the decision.

  10. THIRTY THREE YEARS since that man killed Faye Vann. Meanwhile members of Faye Vann’s family and friends have passed away from OLD AGE and other reasons. There should be a three year maximum from the court order until justice is served on the guilty party. 33 years oh #eII no.
