The Children’s Services Council of Leon County (CSC) will hold a Finance and Budget Committee Meeting on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the CSC training room located at 2002 Old St. Augustine Rd., Ste. Earlier this year TMH underwent a cyberattack and the hospital announced this past week that the hacker obtained personal information for thousands of patients. TMH said it began mailing letters to approximately 20,000 patients whose information was compromised. Social security numbers, addresses, and medical records are information that was likely accessed.

The body that turned up off of Apalachee Parkway has been identified as 30-year-old Keni Germain. The death is still being considered “suspicious” and the cause of death has yet to be announced. Anyone with information can make an anonymous tip by calling 850-574-TIPS.

FLORIDA NEWS

Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis slammed Tik Tok as “digital fentanyl” and saying it does not belong in Florida’s classrooms. He praised the effort of the Florida Legislature to the social media app from school devices and devices connected to the school’s WiFi. The Florida House passed the legislation unanimously, with a final vote tally of 110-0.

The Florida House is also likely set to hear a bill on the floor that would permit execution of child rapists without jury unanimity, a change currently unconstitutional under current Supreme Court precedent. Anyone sentenced to death under this proposed measure would have the recourse of federal appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, and if the High Court holds that the new law is unconstitutional, the sentence would revert to life imprisonment.

SPORTS NEWS

Florida State baseball continues their struggles as the Noles went to Coral Gables and got swept by the Miami Hurricanes three games to none.  The Noles were outscored 27-6 with only Saturday’s 3-2 loss being a close game. Florida State returns to Tallahassee to face Jacksonville Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. FSU beat the Dolphins, 11-2, in Jacksonville earlier this season.

No. 7 Florida State softball swept the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this past weekend. The Noles picked up its second straight run-rule victory over the Yellow Jackets as they cruised to a 9-1 win in six innings on Sunday.

  1. I have credit monitoring because of two companies’ poor security. In addition, I have frozen my credit because an African (as in he is from Africa and is an African Citizen) stole my ID and obtained a T. J. Maxx credit card. The West Chester New York District attorney arrested him and contacted me. Instead of prosecuting him, he was let go with a verbal warning. The Assistant District Attorney assigned to my case was too embarrassed to let me know.

Think about New York being one of the original British Colonies, that once fought for our independence, is now leading the Country in not prosecuting criminals, crime, homelessness, and extraordinary taxes. Of course, if you are a conservative political canidate, you will be prosecuted.

  2. “The Children’s Services Council of Leon County (CSC) will hold a Finance and Budget Committee Meeting on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 5:00 p.m”….

That ship has sailed. They have no accountability, are a slush fund for political candidates disguised as a non-profit, and the director has ties to the Gillum campaign where two were indicted recently for financial fraud.

Barney Bishop, to his credit, tried valiantly to shut this down. Barney was right on this one!

    Shut it down!

  3. OK, Bare with me on this………. You have Companies like Life Lock that has been around for well over a Decade spending $Millions on Advertising. I do not know a single Person who has or does use them or any other Company like them. I also don’t know any one, who was given the Monitoring Services because some thing like this happened, had any issues of ID Theft.

Every time this happens, it seems to be a large Corporation getting hit and not some small Mom & Pop Business. SO, with that said, Every time this happens I wonder if it is Life Lock, or some company like them, doing the Breaching just so they can sell them the Monitoring Services which you know has to be Mega $Millions.

If not, why aren’t a lot more Companies being hit back to back and even smaller Companies? Why isn’t the Information being used?
