While traveling Asia, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is pitching Florida’s loose COVID policies to the South Korean people. South Korea still requires masking in some places, and DeSantis insisted “we were very open.” The Korean governmental website confirms what is in essence called a “quarantine or restriction of movement.” South Korea also requires a so-called “Q Code” to “upload their health condition before their entry to (South) Korea for an easier and faster entry.” DeSantis also noted that many Americans were drawn to Florida because Florida has comparatively more loose COVID policies.

Mostly silent on the issue for the past year, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts on Wednesday filed a federal lawsuit arguing its First Amendment rights were violated and business harmed by a “relentless campaign” of retribution orchestrated by Gov. Ron DeSantis and other officials.

Florida Sen. Rick Scott proposed a piece of legislation in Congress that would fund armed officers in all American schools. The money earmarked for thousands of new IRS employees would be transferred to a grant program allowing schools nationwide to hire armed law enforcement personnel. “It’s too bad we have to think about this, but we do,” Scott said at a news conference in Naples, Florida. “The truth is, every school is going to need law enforcement. Every kid ought to be protected.”

  1. To Rick Scott we need armed militia in schools like we need a hole in the heads of children. Legislate gun reform instead of supporting AR -15’s in the hands of the population.

  2. DoesFlorida need a despot who seeks retaliation if you do not ‘kiss his ring’ in compliance with his will ? We need a public servant to serve openly and transparently, instead of darkly legislating to travel with whom and wherever without informing the public in addition who attends these clandestine meetings.
A despot who is fearful of leading openly and transparently is a desperate insecure dictator.

  3. If they were serious about doing something about fentanyl, they’d hide game cameras around the Narcan stand to identify the addicts, then move up the food chain until everyone is arrested.

These free Narcan stands are gigantic virtue signals that only make the problem worse.

  4. Governor DeSantis is on a four country International Trade mission meeting with government leaders and business executives across industry sectors including the Airlines and Aerospace. This also raises his diplomatic presence.

Kudos to Governor DeSantis for taking the steps in showing the leadership that every top leader should take in securing benefits for the people he serves and not himself.

  5. The free Narcan stands, some are on FAMU too, what is to keep one person from going to those Stands and taking them ALL?

Why is DeSantis flying all over the World just to talk to other Countries about how he handled Covid in Florida? If it is to get them to do Business here, he could have done that with a Phone Call.

Scott is on the right track. defund the IRS.

  6. Christic Henry oh my! Bad online reviews, in fact, awful… and a picture being a participant at the Chamber of Commerce.. .NO, NO, NO!

This article should be titled the three bundle contributions recipients, $27 million giveaway Kickback recipients vote to raise taxes….

  7. Porter will cruise over lobbyist Christic Henry in 2024 especially in light of the tax increase they’re pitching. Good for her.

Will they switch out Curtis? He’s falling asleep in the meetings and voted Yes to raise taxes. Plus the Frenchtown affair..
