At weeks Tallahassee City Commission meeting, a citizen addressed a recent tweet by City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow. According to the speaker, the image of the man being shared by Matlow caused the man to “become Mr. Matlow’s posterchild for what’s wrong in the city today.”
The Leon County School Board voted to provide access to the opioid antagonist naloxone from a wholesale distributor.” The purpose of is to ensure schools are prepared for fentanyl encounters in “the event that a student has an opioid overdose.”
A “Shelter in Place” order was issued as an FSU Alert overnight around 1:00 a.m. Sunday. FSU PD responded to an altercation near Degraff Hall on West Tennessee. FSU PD said a man pulled a firearm and fired several shots hitting one person. The shelter is place was lifted just before 2:00 a.m.
After the storms from last week, the National Weather Service determined that the tornado that blew through Liberty County was an EF2 with winds reaching as high as 123 miles per hour. The town of Hosford was one of the primary communities that faced the tornado and but much of the region was without power.

Florida Congresswoman Kat Cammack has said that she is not ready to commit to a Republican presidential endorsement. “I am 100% confident that the next President of the United States will hail from the Sunshine State. We’ve got incredible talents, incredible men to run. I am excited for the field,” Cammack told host Stuart Varney on the Fox Business Network. She is one of the few Republican congressional members who has not endorsed either DeSantis or Trump.
Florida’s Senator, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, are bringing back a piece of legislation that will attempt to block Chinese encroachments on technology. “The bill would prevent any federally funded U.S. research from being shared or conducted jointly with Chinese entities that participate in the Chinese Communist Party’s Military Civil-Fusion strategy,” Rubio’s office says.

No. 4 Florida State softball swept the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the weekend, capped off with a 12-0 run-rule win on Sunday. The Noles won in extras on Friday night, 5-4, and Saturday’s game was another 11-2 rule-run win. FSU is now 43-8 and will travel to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators on ESPNU at 6:00 p.m.
As the NFL draft concluded only one Seminole heard their name called: safety Jammie Robinson who was taken in the fifth round by the Carolina Panthers. Other Noles taken as undrafted free agent signings include TE Cam McDonald going to the Green Bay Packers, WR Pokey Wilson going to the San Diego Charges, and DT Robert Cooper going to the Seattle Seahawks.

The bill to block Chinese encroachment on technology is laudible, but I have never seen one that was effective.
In ’86 I was working for a company with business around the world. One of their customers was China with an installation on an oil field in Northeast China. While I was there, the Chinese figured out how to “steal” the licensed software and use it elsewhere. They we so proud of themself that they put a congratulatory sign on the front steps, honoring the citizen that had “saved” the Chinese $60,000 in licensing costs. I brought a picture of that sign home, but couldn’t find anyone that was even remotely interested. It sure seemed odd at the time that products with such strict export controls was copied and stolen by the Chinese but nobody cared….

Good luck with that as long as Biden and his Administration are in Office.
TR has a bias against Matlow which they have every right to and on some things they are right, but it erases credibility when they ignore out and out corruption by DAILEY, DWC, and No Clouds Over Tallahassee, liar about accepting bundled contributions, and keeping Tallahassee from doing a nationwide search for a city manager to end the Maddox era corruption, Curtis.
Sooner or later, “…what’s wrong with the city…” is how politicians get rich. Throw tax dollars at the problem through political cronies and get some tax dollars back in the form of political contribution.
