LOCAL NEWS

Tallahassee Police have reported that two shootings took place Sunday evening, but neither crime scene has been located. One teenage boy, a man, and a woman were injured as a result of each shooting. The teenage boy was checked in to HCA Southwood Emergency when law enforcement was contacted and later told law enforcement the shooting told place at the 3100 block of Dunkeld Court. The other incident allegedly occurred near Capital Circle Northeast and Miccosukee Road where the man and woman took themselves to a local hospital for treatment.

Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to dismiss the indictment against former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and co-defendant Sharon Lettman-Hicks. Federal prosecutors had previously indicated they would retry the case. U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor had not approved the request, but defense attorneys are hoping he will.

The Tallahassee City Commission recently addressed the noise ordinance, an $8 million contract at the airport and the Southside Action Plan. Get the details.

FLORIDA NEWS

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is asking the Florida Supreme Court to dismiss a recreational marijuana amendment. Moody cited a law requiring constitutional amendments to touch on just a single subject, and whether it complies with all technical requirements of state law, which she claims the amendment does not follow. It would clear all licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers in the state to start making and selling recreational cannabis products.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill banning a central bank digital currency. The Biden administration began studying the concept last year, but it would be banned in Florida before any federal measure was implemented. “Maybe you bought a firearm last week and they don’t want you to buy another one this week,” DeSantis said. “Anyone with their eyes open can see the dangers of what this type of arrangement would mean.”

  1. “Federal prosecutors have asked the judge to dismiss the indictment against Andrew Gillum.” Of course they have. Everyone knows now that the FBI is completely corrupt. This is all in the Democrats master plan. I’m sure Gillum will be elected Governor next. SMH

  2. ““Completion of this project will remove the existing weight restrictions imposed on Runway 18-36 and provide an alternative runway for air carrier operations.”” …….. = So, you are going to build a third Runway? Where will you put it, you have Solar Panels all over the place at the Airport?

“The window of time during which the excessive noise is prohibited is between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.” …… = It USED to be 10:00pm, why did you change it to 2:00am?
