The latest reports show that Leon County gained 1,371 jobs in August. There were 161,398 people working in Leon County in August compared to last month’s revised employment number of 160,027.
The unemployment rate came in at 3.2%, down from the 3.3% reported in July. The unemployment rate was down with approximately 1,200 people joining the workforce in August.
One year ago, the August 2022 unemployment rate was 3.0%.
The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in August 2023 was 6,937 more than in August 2022. The August 2023 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 166,778, which was 7,478 more than the number reported in August 2023.
