Leon County Unemployment Increases to 3.3% in October

The latest reports show that Leon County lost 185 jobs in October. There were 163,844 people working in Leon County in October compared to last month’s revised employment number of 164,029.

The unemployment rate came in at 3.3%, up from the 3.0% reported in September.

One year ago, the October 2022 unemployment rate was 2.8%.

The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in October 2023 was 5,934 more than in October 2022. The October labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 169,522, which was 5,934 more than the number reported in October 2022.

The chart below shows the monthly level of jobs in Leon County over the last 37 months with a 12-month average trend line. The highlighted numbers relate to employment levels for the month of August back to 2020.
