The Tallahassee Police Department is conducting a double homicide investigation following a shooting that occurred on June 17th just after 10 p.m. at Griffin Heights Apartments, located at 1010 Basin Street.
Officials reported on Tuesday that TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation and preliminary findings indicate this is an isolated incident and all parties involved have been identified. Based on this information, detectives believe there is no immediate concern for a threat to public safety. No arrests have been made and this remains an open and active investigation.
According to TPD, “When officers arrived on scene, they discovered two victims, an adult male and a juvenile male, in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately began rendering aid. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital where they sadly succumbed to their injuries.”
