On Apr. 25, former Florida High tackle Anthony “The Escalade” Belton was selected 54th overall by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the NFL Draft. Belton played a big part in the success of the NC State offensive line in college and plans to play a key role in the Packers pass defense.
Before transferring to NC State, Belton played two years at Georgia Military College with Tampa Bay Buccaneer Linebacker YaYa Diaby as a teammate. After transferring to NC State, Belton started all three years making a name for himself as an elite pass blocker. In 2022 Belton had the challenge of replacing NC State’s offensive tackle Ickey Ekwonu, who was drafted sixth overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2022 NFL draft. Belton filled the role nicely while starting 8 times for the Wolfpack in 2022. Belton finished up his 2023 season with 51 pancake blocks and being named a third-team All-ACC performer.
During his high school career, Belton played on both sides of the ball on the Florida High varsity team for two years including his junior and senior year. During those two years, Belton played a total of 17 games and amassed a total of 30 tackles and two tackles for loss.
Anthony will love being a Packer and the Packer Backers will love “The Escalade!” The GBPs are assembling a massive offensive line and he will fit in nicely.
Congrats. Going from Florida to Green Bay will be a major Change Weather wise. It SNOWS EVERY YEAR up there.
