Reports filed with the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) show that the Leon County School Board has added 47 School Administrator positions over a 6-year period while the number of students declined and the number of teachers were reduced. Details.

Federal officers shot and killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old protester, in Minneapolis Saturday. The incident marks the second fatal shooting of a US citizen by officers in Minnesota this month, after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent killed driver Renee Good on Jan. 7. The Department of Homeland Security says Pretti approached Border Patrol agents with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and resisted attempts to disarm him. Video footage suggests Pretti carried a concealed firearm on his waistband but did not touch or reach for the gun during interactions with officers. Officers appear to discover and remove the firearm after Pretti is pinned facedown to the ground, and 10 shots are fired soon after. See a timeline and analysis of video footage here.
Senate Democrats say they will block government funding package if it includes money for the Department of Homeland Security following Saturday’s fatal shooting in Minnesota; funding is set to run out Friday, Jan. 30 (More).

MDM, Goode wasn’t murdered, she rammed her car into a law enforcement officer and he responded with justified lethal force. It’s explicitly permitted under a bill signed into law by Tim Walz.
As for the most recent shooting, it appears to be a tragic accident from an accidental discharge from a firearm notorious for such discharges. The police officers knew he was armed and when the shot rang out, they responded as trained.
It’s a tragic accident and I do sincerely think it shouldn’t have happened, but your hyperbolic hysterics of calling justifiable homicides by law enforcement murder is unhelpful at the least and entirely disingenuous at the worst.
He brought a concealed weapon, in his waistband, and two full mags to a “peaceful” protest and physically resisted officers after he inserted himself into a situation where he did not belong. It was a recipe for disaster no matter how you slice it.
It should also be noted that 23% of all ICE encounters are in Texas and only 2% in Minnesota, yet the only two shootings we have are in Minnesota where the Democrat leadership is calling for active resistance to legal authority and calling that legal authority the gestapo. Something is rotten in Minnesota and it isn’t immigration enforcement.

Anyone, other than law enforcement, who brings a firearm to a large public gathering should expect to possibly get into a very difficult personal situation.
This incident should serve as a “wake-up-call” to everyone who legally or illegally is in possession of a firearm.
This individual made some very bad choices that day. He chose to attend a troubling public gathering with a large law enforcement presence; he brought his firearm; and, he made physical contact with a law enforcement agent. Not too smart.

When dude put his hands on a federal law enforcement officer, he was committing a felony. So, he was in the commission of a felony while armed with a 9mm handgun. Anyone that interferes with law enforcement while armed with a handgun should expect to get shot. They took the one he had concealed in the small of his back away from him.

That isn’t what the video suggests or what appears to happen. It’s what it shows and what did happen. They shot an unarmed civilian in the back and then immediately started calling him a domestic terrorist. At no point did the man threaten anyone. Yet conservatives rationalized the mans murder.
If Biden had sent troops into Texas (home of the most illegal aliens!), and shot someone for ‘bringing a pistol with the intent to inflict maximum harm’, the conservative hive mind would have *lost their mind*. But because Trump tells them to ignore what is in front of their eyes, they do. When he said Greenlanders called him ‘Daddy’, he was actually talking about the conservatives in this country.
The least surprising part of this whole thing is how quickly conservatives are capitulating to the ‘don’t bring a gun to a protest’ line because they never really wanted *anyone* to be able to have a firearm, just people they agree with. It’s always hypocrisy with conservatives; they could care less about the second amendment (and first, and fourth) if it means people on the left might carry a firearm, protest, or have privacy from federal agents within their homes.
The property located at 700 Capital Cr NE requires investigation. It was acquired in 3/2024 for $1,547,000 and touted as, you guessed it, a day care center (Purposeful Beginnings Learning). I have heard the dollars came from a grant. The property appraiser shows no buildings at the owners mailing address. There have never been any children at the facility (I drive by daily).
Could be legit….but worth a look.
