On Monday, January 26th, 46-year-old John Fredrick Black was arrested in Texas and booked into the Harris County Jail on a warrant issued by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant stems from an undercover investigation into online child exploitation in Tallahassee. Details.

The Leon County Commission voted 6-1 on Tuesday to accept a $500,000 grant to reimburse the expenses the sheriff’s office has and will incur for cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Commissioner O’Keefe voted no. Details.

The National Transportation Safety Board yesterday determined last year’s deadly midair collision between an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter was largely caused by the Federal Aviation Administration’s placement of a helicopter route in the approach path of a Ronald Reagan National Airport runway.

  1. Just an FYI TR: The “Details” link to the Army veteran and community advocate Tifany Hill is running for Tallahassee City Commission Seat 5 is not correct.

    And, for what it’s worth, Commissioner O’Keefe’s reasoning for voting against the grant is irrational. However, it does make it clear on where he stands when it comes to public safety, our laws, and illegal alien criminals. Clearly, Commissioner O’Keefe is NOT focused on public safety, is NOT in support of our laws, and definitely supports illegal alien criminals continuing to thwart our laws and put public safety at risk.
