During the Monday Leon County School Board agenda review meeting, officials focused on proposed cuts in spending to address the well documented financial challenges.
One of the main points of discussion were approximately $13 million in proposed cuts for the 2027-27 budget. The document provided for review, show below, provided recommend cuts for 26/27 and a list of more cuts revenue shortfalls are larger than currently expected.

One has to wonder why they haven’t made these cuts before. Also, make those district administrators take more furloughs. Better yet, make them take a month off in the summer without pay. Half don’t show up anyway. Do the same with the school based administrators.
