In an exclusive statement to TR, a TMH spokesperson distanced hospital leadership from comments attributed to a “hospital insider” included in an article published by the Tallahassee Democrat where the “insider” described the FSU/TMH negotiations as “strained” and provided comments that indicated a lack of progress in talks.
The Democrat reported the “hospital insider” would only speak on background to avoid retaliation.
The Tallahassee Democrat report came after the City of Tallahassee announced an agreement with FSU for the transfer of all City-owned hospital assets currently leased to TMH. A public hearing is scheduled for the City Commission to take final action on March 11 at 9 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers.
When questioned by TR, Sarah Connor, the Director of Marketing & Communications for TMH, provided comments which were at odds with the statement provided by the “insider”.
On the negotiations, Connor said, “These are complex legal documents, and all of them are being worked on collaboratively from both sides. We are in the process of reviewing and working through them all – they aren’t finalized yet, but we’re making progress.”
On the “hospital insider” and the fear of retaliation, Connor said “I don’t know who the ‘hospital insider’ is, but there are no concerns of retaliation from our partners at FSU for speaking to the media.”

The legislature doesn’t run FSU, why would it run the hospital through FSU?
I am more wondering about when the sell is final. I know the County and City is supposed to have have seats on the Board BUT, since FSU is a “State Owned College”, what then? Will the Legislature be running things?
The only real concerns are:
1.) The Democratic Elected Officials with City Govornment and the real possability of typical Democratic Financial Graft and Corruption.
2.) The State of Florida, once again, turning a blind eye to “Whatever Tallahassee Wants To Do”.
You may rest assured Florida’s Attorney General will not DOGE the process.
