  1. During a Sept. 2 appearance on CNN, Gillum boasted that the city was seeing a five-year low in the crime rate. He also emphasized he was mayor of Tallahassee, not Leon County. “We didn’t do that by arresting more people and throwing away the key but by leaning into smart justice, restorative justice, second chances,” he said. “We’re very, very proud of I think the very progressive way in which we’ve addressed crime in my city and it’s evident by the numbers. I’d like to see those kinds of strategies scaled up all around the state of Florida.”

  2. Do you want the Crime rate to drop even MORE……… Those that break into our Vehicles, Homes, Businesses, steals our Vehicles and steals packages off our Door Steps……. let us SHOOT THEM. Let us be allowed to sit and wait armed and ready to shoot them. The only rule is we show Video proof of the Criminal in action.

  3. Last year, there were 561 murders in the city of Chicago.
So there were fewer murders in the entire state of Florida than in the liberal-run city of Chicago.

  4. Let’s make sure crime is being reported in a similar fashion in comparison to previous years. Bundling similar yet different crimes under one case number to make the numbers appear to be less is not a true reduction in crime! The reason the homicide numbers aren’t down is because you can’t manipulate the number of deaths!

    1. Yes! I believe they manipulate the numbers.

Last I heard murder was a crime so they lose credibility when they say crime is down, but murder is up.

You have to give them credit for nerve.

      1. What? It went from 6 to 11. The crime rate is a general rate but going from 6 to 11 is really small for our population.
