The Florida Supreme Court rules 2-1 in favor of shielding Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare from having to turn over records to a family that claimed their child’s condition resulted from a birth injury or from treatment he received at the hospital. The issue stemmed from a 2004 medical malpractice lawsuit regarding a child with cerebral palsy. The effects of the case could lead to a reopening of a Florida Supreme Court debate over a constitutional amendment forcing hospitals and healthcare providers to disclose records.

  1. Great news about Charlie Crist:
Politicans are allowed to retain moneys in their campaign war chests for future runs at political office. By donating the rest of his campaign money it may portend that Crist has no intent of seeking a future political office!!!!
Yes I said “MAY” you know what a flip flopper Crist is.
Or it may more likely be a ploy to throw Ashley Moody off Crist’s trail of “Andrew Gillum like” misuse of his campaign funds.
Just a heads up to Florida’s Attorney General: Audit Crist’s campaign funds down to the last penny. It matters not if your office has to audit all candidates to make it look fair.
Oh BTW is it too late to do an official State of Florida audit on Andrew Gillum’s previous campaigns?

  2. – Congratulations Jordan Travis!

    – I don’t see how they cannot allow medical records to not be turned over to the parents. Not only is it heartless it should be criminal.

    – Senator Rick Scott has my vote for Senator minority leader!

Just curious… do the requested records have to do with their child’s care at TMH, or are they beyond that? If they are records having to do with their child’s care at TMH, what rationale does the court present in their decision to refuse the parents request?

Yea for Senator Scott… Mitch has got to go

Kudos to Judge Cooper… make your case or make for the exit
