The latest numbers out of VISIT FLORIDA reveal a strong showing for Florida’s tourism industry. According to the state’s tourism agency, 35.1 million people visited Florida between July and September this year which is nearly a seven percent increase over the same period from last year. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called the latest numbers an indicator of “Our freedom first policies” continuing “to bring visitors to Florida from across the country and around the world.”

U.S. District Judge Mark Walker issued a defeat for the DeSantis administration by halting the implementation of the “Stop WOKE Act.” The bill was part of DeSantis’ anti-woke legislative effort that he unveiled in December 2021. The bill shields Floridians who oppose Critical Race Theory in classrooms, in the workplace, and provides a legal framework to seek litigation against unwanted “indoctrination.” Walker invoked George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” calling the law “positively dystopian.” The ruling can be appealed at the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Florida Gov. DeSantis also announced state workers will be getting additional days off for the holiday season this year. DeSantis said that state offices will be closed Nov. 23, Dec. 23, and Dec. 30.

  1. “U.S. District Judge Mark Walker issued a defeat for the DeSantis administration by halting the implementation of the “Stop WOKE Act.”

I suggest Staff look back on all the Walker rulings made against the DeSantis administration and see how many are reversed at the Appellate level. Far from being a defeat, as usual, Walker’s leftist agenda is merely a bump in the road.

  2. Your previous article should be linked to this one. “TPD’s daily log of incidents indicated the armed robbery took place on November 9th at 10:15 p.m. at the 4800 block of Kerry Forest Parkway.”

  3. Jeremy Matlow’s people are going to kill someone at a Circle K if they are not stopped right away.
Jeremy get the Citizens Police Review Board to reach out to your people and pay them some taxpayer money to make them stop!!!!

Welcome to the woke new age of crime control in Tallahassee/Leon.
