Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a death warrant on Monday for Donald Dillbeck who was the perpetrator in the shocking 1990 murder of Faye Vann. Court records show Dillbeck stabbed Vann in the parking lot of the Tallahassee Mall and stole her car. The man has been on death row for 30 years.

A death investigation is underway after a 3-year-old Tallahassee boy died Monday morning. TPD responded to an apartment complex on Roberts Avenue in reference to an unresponsive child. The child was transported to a local hospital where the child did not make it. No arrests have yet been made.

Ron DeSantis announced his proposal to pump approximately $200M into Florida’s education budget to cover teacher pay increases, Florida’s largest teachers’ union said DeSantis’ plan “seeks to punish and divide.” The Florida Education Association President Andrew Spar said that teachers are leaving the public school system because of DeSantis’ policies.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis also said the reason the Florida Department of Education rejected an AP African American studies course because “queer theory” and “intersectionality” were a part of the curriculum. The department said the course is “inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.”

  1. “National Known Civil Rights Attorney” and “publicity hound” Bubba Crump is now involved in filing a lawsuit against DeSantis for denying AP African American Studies course. The Gov should seek Andrew Gillum’s opinion on black homosexual history.

  2. @ NE Not-So Moderate… A McLeod -v- Welch race will be interesting, I’ll give you that. Any reasonable candidate who challenges Porter will beat her handily by using a simple three-pronged approach and platform. And when that candidate makes him or herself known, I will contact them directly to hand it to them. As for Corey Simon, he will hold that seat for as long as he wishes, provided he makes no MAJOR mistakes.

  3. The assault on the TMH employee is the exact location where I saw clown cars assisting a vehicle accident. The clown cars presence are not a deterrent and sorry to tell you I told you so, not sorry. It is advertising to the youth in that area, who seem to be a problem, that the law enforcement has dummied down their enforcement.

If there are any state Republican candidates who accept money from the Ghazvinis they may want to return those contributions as this entity wreaks havoc on our elections and environment. It supports Democratic Party candidates with dangerous ideologies that affect our quality of life and results in failing schools, high crime rate, and millions of taxpayer dollar giveaways.

  4. @ Pat A: You left out a couple people. I don’t put it on Law Enforcement, I put the High Crime Rate on the DA’s Office for NOT assigning the proper Charges, the Prosecuting Attorney’s for Reducing the Charges just to Close a Case and get their Conviction Numbers up, and the Judges for allowing it to happen. A couple Months ago, a Man was attacked by someone hitting him in the Head with a Hammer. The Suspect was charge with Assault & Batter instead of Attempted Murder. If you the Crime Rate to drop, Proper Charges and longer Sentences are needed.

  5. Republican Drew McLeod is set to run against Brian Welch. Sets up an interesting matchup. Chamber/Ghazvinis gonna go in against a popular incumbent and risk losing yet again? Porter will cruise over a Chamber recruit, Corey Simon will struggle in a 2024 presidential year.

  6. How bad does crime have to get before our local elected officials, sheriffs and police chiefs do something? And enough of this B..L S..T the black community isn’t comfortable with police in their neighborhood. Every day, the vast majority of people arrested in Leon Co are black. And in Gadsden County, it is almost 100 percent. People that read/contribute to this web site state openly the Dailey drug and prostitution activity off Orange Avenue and the problem Cobb students pose to our community. Yet, our elected officials seem obliviant to the problem. We need to come together, figure out an action plan and bring it to the public. To the liberals in the community, are you waiting for a love one to be a victum of crime before you complain? What is it going to take to get the government to take *real* action against crime? All the clown cars in the world and “community policing” or Leon Co Sheriff’s smart phone App is going to stop the 5th generation criminal from the 32304. And by all means, stop villianizing the cops. Just because a perp got shoved around a little for being rude to a cop isn’t grounds to fire the cop. The Bible addresses dealing with the lost. Sometimes you must accept some people cannot be saved. I.E. the 4 youth that attacked the TMH employee. And Ben Crump isn’t helping, either. Not once have I heard him tell the black population how to properly respond to being pulled over by police. If Crump cared, he would stress complying with the cops then calling a lawyer. But he would never be famous if he did that.

  7. @ David… your point is well taken. Many of the young/new teachers coming out of our woke colleges have themselves been indoctrinated with hate, racism, and activism… and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near children. The whining coming from the Union clowns is simply Alinsky projection.

Many of the teachers that are leaving are seasoned professionals who have watched the Public Education System deteriorate into pedo/perv queer ideology centers, and they simply cannot take it any longer. They are choosing to go the private school route where teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic is the focus.

The ones leaving “because” of the Governors policies are doing so because those policies threaten their true motives for becoming a teacher in the first place… which is not to educate, but rather to indoctrinate children with their warped and twisted queer ideology.

The US spends more on education per-child than any other nation in the world. But the results are not well-educated young adults ready to face the realities of adulthood and become productive members of a civil society… but rather ill-educated twidiots, instascamers, and sick tok buffoons who still live at home and can’t even handle an 8-hour shift.

Kudos to our great Governor for trying to save a sinking ship. And to you woke Union wackos… just sit down.

  8. Maybe the teachers leaving the public school system because of DeSantis’ policies shouldn’t have become Teachers to start with.
