On Tuesday, the Leon County Commission adopted a resolution declaring a climate emergency in Leon County.

A teenager, 17-year-old Ja’Darius Brown, was arrested on manslaughter charges in connection with an accidental shooting on Monday at the Springfield Apartment Complex in Tallahassee. Brown and three other people were in a car smoking marijuana in a parking lot around 4 p.m. when Brown “inadvertently” pulled the trigger, striking a woman. Brown allegedly drove the victim to the hospital, but not until he ditched the firearm at a separate location. The victim died at the hospital, police confirmed.

FLORIDA NEWS

A federal appeals court has put on hold a battle about a 2022 Florida law that restricts instruction about gender identity and sexual orientation in schools, after attorneys said they were in settlement talks.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that the age of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump is a “legitimate concern” for voters. “The presidency is not a job for someone that’s 80 years old, and there’s nothing wrong with being 80,” DeSantis added. “Obviously, I’m the Governor of Florida. I know a lot of people who are elderly; they’re great people, but you’re talking about a job where you need to give it 100%.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis while remembering the 9/11 tragedy earlier this week, he is afraid the next big terrorist threat to the United States could originate out of the porous southern border. “Millions and millions of people coming illegally and understand there’s people coming from China, there’s people coming from the Middle East, there’s people coming from all across the world (to get a) free pass into our country,” DeSantis said.

  1. Pat watch your mouth, you have no reference to know what that young man has seen or experienced and you weren’t at the scene of the crime, it’s better to speak on what you know and not pass judgment based off of your own personal opinion. As a child you don’t have a choice of what environment you’re born into, people fall victim to there environment unfortunately all the time, but just because he wasn’t giving a life a private schools and two-story houses doesn’t make him any less of an individual. This was an unfortunate situation and my condolences to all families involved this tragedy.

  2. The Golden Eagle community has requested and will be privately paying for an increased law enforcement presence in their gated community due to concerns of traffic violations.

Meanwhile, there is a steady stream of shootings in the 32304 community. And for some inexplicable reason, the welcomed and accepted response is to ease up law enforcement in the area and increase programs to reach out to the youth.

On another note – I think we need age limits on political positions for the good of the country. Too many politicians don’t recognize or accept their own decline and won’t leave on their own accord. My guess is they are kept in power by the political apparatus (unelected and unknown people) that won’t let anybody run against the incumbent.

  3. OT for Today’s news…but…while the consolidation of Tal Tran and GreyHound’s pick-up, drop-off, waiting area to board a bus either local or cross country sounds like it may be a revenue generator.
However the facility will likely expose the COT to additional lawsuits. Likely become a human traffiking hub, a fentynal hub, and a general crime magnet with the cities Black population taking the majority of the crime on the chin.
In addition the CK Steel Plaza is a non heated non cooled open air facility exposed to not just crime but extreem cold and heat.
And what is to become of the old GreyHound and ajacient Trailways terminal properties? Why do I have a sneeky feeling Bethel AME is already promised a big money making piece of that action.
I know most of our well to do readers and elected officials have no experience with either TalTran or Greyhound riding. But I have logged many a mile for many a year and I speak from that point of view.

  4. Listening to Glen Beck a little while ago, he played a Recording of Ron DeSantis saying that he was “Dropping out of the GOP Primary and throwing all of his support behind Trump” I was actually believing it until Glen said that it was generated 100% by AI. Anyone hearing that would actually believe it was DeSantis talking. THIS is what I have been saying, the Democrats will next be using AI to Frame Trump and I believe that the Democrats made that Recording to hurt DeSantis. Ron DeSantis needs to get in front of this NOW if he hasn’t already.

  5. ref ” A teenager, 17-year-old Ja’Darius Brown, was arrested on manslaughter charges”

This crime should be a legal exhibit number 1 that criminals do not follow the law no matter how many times government says it.

Hasn’t it always been a violation of law for a 17-year-old black male to play with a loaded pistol while smoking pot? It is the fact that our idiot leaders seem to think that enacting another law restricting law abiding citizen’s freedom somehow tells young black pot smoking people not to play with a loaded pistol will fix the problem.

But I understand why Ja’Darius thought this conduct was acceptable because he has seen High School Students bring loaded guns with pot to school and basically nothing happened to them. In fact, they score more “street cred” as a result. The Federal Government refuses to prosecute minors that bring a guns on campus. And when the legal system works itself out, the taxpayer foots the attorney bill and the kid get a misdemeanor charge. He has also seen many career black criminals facing arrest resist until the cops used “excessive force” become martyrs in the community. This is the future under Democrat Liberal Progressive Rule. Code Word: Restorative Justice. Get used to it.

But here is a clue for any libtard seriously wanting to make life better in the black community. You have to change the accepted behavior while they are in Elementary School. By High School it is way too late.
