A man is under arrest for a series of shoplifting cases at home improvement stores around Tallahassee over the last two months. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) says businesses reported four incidents where a male suspect made off with high-value equipment. Stolen items included chainsaws, weed eaters, and ceiling fans.

Florida has overtaken New York to hold the second most valuable housing market in the United States, according to a study published this week by Zillow. Per the most recent housing market assessment, Florida’s total market value has ballooned to $3.8 trillion, trailing only California, and can largely be attributed to population growth and increased housing demand within the state.
TSG Advisors, the consulting offshoot of lobbying powerhouse The Southern Group, has made a bold first move in the real-world game of Monopoly that is played in the coveted two blocks of office buildings stretching between the Capitol and Park Avenue in downtown Tallahassee. On Monday, TSG Advisors purchased Westcott Station, the four-story, 30,000-square-foot building on the corner of Monroe Street and College Avenue that houses the landmark breakfast deli Goodies Eatery and about a dozen governmental affairs tenants.

In Thursday night high school volleyball, the Chiles Timberwolves defeated the Lincoln Trojans, 3-1 with set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-7, & 25-10.
The 3A Florida High Seminoles traveled to Lynn Haven to face the 6A Mosley Dolphins. The Seminoles won 3-0 with set scores of 25-21, 25-22 & 25-14.
The Leon Lions defeated the Lowndes Vikings 3-0, with set scores of 25-18, 25-11, & 25-12.

@David — The rise in tax rates has nothing to do with support for the taxpayer, it’s to expand the government giveaway and increase the government power. It pulls the middle class down and increases the need for these programs.

I have been saying for several Years now that there are ZERO Reasons to raise Property Taxes. Just STOP with the wild unneeded Spending and the Taxes will catch up. Tallahassee has enough Parks and Trails for now, we can wait 5 Years before another one is built.

We are going to likely get State Government intervention after the upcoming POTUS election. Local voters have no intention of voting for needed change. Likely a full forensic audit under the oversight of The FDLE into the relationship between Leon’s Property Appraiser and Elected Officials. Rumors are also whispering of a similar forensic audit on the Florida City operated Utilitiys begining with Gainesville and Tallahassee. Neither city will vote out their current leftist elected officials. No not ever.
@Jon — The jump in property prices has me thinking that my decision(s) to not by certain properties about 10 years ago because the prices seemed so unreasonable a mistake. They would never make it to an MLS listing today at that old purchase price.
@TR — How about an upgrade to the comments section of the site? Instead of 1 or 2 “me, too” type messages, a one-click like, thumbs-up, etc. would better show the support for the comment. And an off-the-mark comment could get a few thumbs down clicks instead of a negative comment initiating a flame war.

2nd most valuable (expensive) housing market? Im not sure thats a good thing. That means higher taxes, insurance, and payments. Its time to cut property taxes.
